The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient Indian text is an important work that is part of the Hindu tradition. It is a collection of philosophy as well as literature. In the period between 350 BCE and 200CE The Bhagavad Gita was written. The source of the Bhagavadgita isn't clear as is the case with the Upanishads as well as the Vedas.
The Bhagavadgita is a timeless spiritual message that was first discovered in the ancient India. Gita is a song as well as a word. Bhagavad is an Hebrew word which means God. The Bhagavad Gita is commonly referred to as"the Song of God. It is believed that the Bhagavad Gita is a synergy between Hindu concepts of dharma and theistic Bhakti. The Gita is described through the dialogue between Pandava prince Arjuna as well as his guide and the charioteer Krishna. Two people were seated in a chariot near the heart of a huge battlefield in the north of central India just a couple of millennia ago. The yoga guru Arjunawas the one among them who knew that it would not be long before the conflict began. He demanded Krishna (Master of Yoga) what he ought to consider and how he should look at the situation. He also demanded Krishna the master of Yoga (Yogeshwara) what to do.
There was no way to come across empty words. Krishna gave Arjuna the way to lead a life that is self-aware and self-mastery in a brief discourse.
It was a ferocious battle and all lost. The epic poem of Vyasa, The Mahabharata (The Great Indian War) was written by Vyasa. He turned Krishna's inspirational teachings into an exquisite jewel. They were quickly extracted and called Bhagavad Gita ("The Song of God") that spread across the subcontinent.
It was a long time back. Nowadays, the Gita is present in nearly every Indian household, and is translated into the major languages around the world. Literally billions on millions of copies have been written and printed. In the past an South African spiritual organization printed one million copies and distributed them for free. Rudyard Kipling was made a Freemason of Lahore after four sacred scriptures were set at the altar.
What makes the Gita so attractive? It's practical and free from any vague or abstract philosophical concepts. My first visit to India was more than 40 years back. I was introduced to the yogi who lived in a tiny houseboat on the GangesRiver in Benares (Varanasi). He was unable to write or speak however, people would come to him for advice for many years. What did he do? He had an original copy of the Bhagavad Gita. Upon being asked about the issue or issue the Gita would be opened and then point to a specific section that would provide the person asking an all-inclusive and complete solution.
My spiritual awakening began by taking me away from my familiar religion and into a world that was full of new realities I was unable to manage. I struggled in the new world until I purchased a book in paperback of the Bhagavadgita. I didn't even read it. I sucked it up. I wasn't listening to words from a long-dead teacher, my Self was talking about me in the pages of this tiny book. I didn't learn anything else from Gita-I, beyond what I already knew. The Eternal Self spoke to us with Eternal Truth. My life was changed by the Bhagavad Gita, which brought me a life that never ends.
There was never a problem within my own life which the Gita did not clarify or allow me to address or comprehend. It's not an absolute doctrine. Krishna told Arjuna at the endof the story "Now, I have taught you the wisdomwhich is secret of secrets." It's worth the time to consider it. "Then, act as you think is best." There aren't any threats or promises to be made, nor is there any coercion. The reader is in charge of the result.
And, even more importantly, the Bhagavad Gita shows us how we can attain a knowledge beyond what it teaches. It teaches us how. It is a good idea that you read through the Gita every day throughout your life.
